The world is about to see the only lunar eclipse of the year 2019, when the shadow of the earth falls on the moon, turning its color into reddish orange.

The total lunar eclipse must be visible in the Western Hemisphere, in Europe and in the western part of Africa, as well as in northern Russia. In good weather, the lunar eclipse could attract about 2.8 billion people.

North Americans will have the best view of eclipses, appearing in the sky from 9:30 pm EST (2:36 GMT Monday).

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) said it was the first time in three years that North America was witnessing a lunar eclipse. European citizens will be able to see the eclipse on Monday at dawn.

This lunar eclipse is called "bloody moon" since the color of the moon will be orange-red during the eclipse. The color change of the moon is due to the diffusion of small atoms that make up the blue atmosphere of the Earth when the sun pbades through it, leaving a red color in the majority.
