LONDON (Reuters) – Belgian defender Toby Alderfield will be extended until Tottenham Hotspur until the summer of 2020, Tottsham Hotspur reported on Friday.
Tottenham wrote on his official account on Twitter, "the club confirms that it has made the option to extend the contract of his defender Alderfield until 2020
Alderfield has played 135 caps in Tottenham since joining the club in 2015 since Atletico Madrid.
Alderferald has 88 caps for Belgium. He began his career at Ajax before joining Atletico Madrid in 2013.
Alderfield was one of the most prominent players that Manchester United wanted to contract last summer.
Tottenham is preparing to face Tranmere Rovers on Friday in the FA Cup, then Chelsea in the English League Cup and Manchester United in the Premier League.
