Mubasher: US President Donald Trump said Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell had hit the market with a few hours of interest rate cuts.
The Fed decided to cut interest rates by 25 basis points, between 2 and 2.25%, but the US president had previously stated that he wanted a sharp cut in interest rates .
"What the market wanted from Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve, is that it was the beginning of a long cycle of interest rate cuts that would keep pace with that. what are China doing, the EU and other countries of the world, "wrote Trump in a tweet on Wednesday.
"As usual, we failed Powell, but we at least put an end to the quantitative focus, which should not have started early, not at inflation."
"We still win, but the Fed does not help me much," said the head of the world's largest economy.
The chairman of the Federal Reserve said that the interest rate cut was only intended to adapt to economic conditions but not to a change in monetary policy, a sign that further rate cuts are not certain.
