The instant messaging application and WhatsApp are looking to add more features to protect their platform from spreading false news, which severely harm their users. Watsab has introduced a new feature to detect malicious messages.
According to the "BuzzFeed News" website, Wasab launched last Thursday the message transfer feature that allows the user to know how many times the message has been transferred.
When the user receives a message that has been transferred more than five times to users, this will be explained by adding a two-letter code above the message to indicate that the message has been forwarded.
In addition, if the user tries to transfer a message that has already been transferred several times by other users, Wattab will mark the message as "Redirected several times" before sending it.
Wattasab, which belongs to Facebook, which has more than one billion users worldwide, aims to stem the spread of false information through its platform, which is the focus of Exchanges in two of the largest countries in India and Brazil.
