US equities come closer, market fears between recession fears and retail data

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The S & P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced on Thursday night on positive retail sales figures that overshadowed fears of recession and trade tensions between the US and the US. China.

The Dow closed the session up 99.90 points, or 0.39%, to 25,579.32 points, while the Standard & Poor's Index 500 Index <.SPX> rose 7.02 points, or 0.25%, to 2,847.62.

The Nasdaq composite index <.IXIC> lost 7.32 points, or 0.09%, to 7,766.62.
