A new study confirms that vegetarians have more sick days than meat eaters, due to colds, flu and other minor illnesses.
The study shows that people who go on a meatless diet receive about five days off a year, about double the average annual total number of employee sick days, according to Al Bayan, United Arab Emirates.
Researchers also found that Millennial workers took three times as much leave as those over the age of 55, according to the British newspaper "Mirror".
The study, conducted by the British Fisherman's Mark, found that vegetarians were more likely to respond to winter weather, with sick leave equivalent to twice that of non-vegetarians.
The study, conducted on 1,000 office workers, showed that vegetarians had taken an average of five days off in the past year due to colds, coughs or flu, compared to an average of 2, 5 days in Britain due to minor illnesses.
