Verchtapen with Mercedes would be better than Hamilton

The 2016 world champion and former Mercedes driver, Nico Rosberg, thinks that the extraordinary Max Versthaben, Red Bull's driver at the Formula One World Championship, is able to beat Lewis Hamilton when he was part of the Mercedes team.

The Dutchman made his second victory in the last three races in Formula 1, winning the Grand Prix, where Hamilton made several mistakes that led to his downgrading.

Verstauben also managed to finish the last 20 races in the top five, which impressed Rosenberg with the Dutch driver.

"Verstauben will beat Hamilton in the championship when he is at Mercedes," said Rosenberg.

"He is in an exceptional season," he said.

"He has unique skills, and the Netherlands support him all.We like to watch him drive the car, because it's very cool."

According to Rosenberg, Verchtapen's performance, especially at Hockenheim, opened the door to the possibility of finally catching up with Mercedes, despite the absolute silver arrows dominating the championship.

"He had incredible speed, he did everything right and deserved to win very well," said Rosenberg.

"It's his second win of the season, just 22 Potas points in the order of points."

"He's also ahead of the Ferrari drivers, who clearly have a better car than his car."

"It's amazing, while it's lit the season, the difference from Hamilton is 61 points, that's what inspires the championship with our arrival in the middle."
