Belgian international defender Thomas Vermaelen has signed with Japanese Vesel Kobe for two and a half years after his contract with Barcelona, the Belgian media reported on Friday.
The former Barcelona defender, released from his contract on 1 July, "pbaded the routine medical examination" and "went to the training center" of his future team , which occupies 15th place in the championship, reported the Heat Light News.
Vesel Kobe will soon announce his official contract with Vermeilen, 33, after he refused to propose to his former colleague and compatriot Vincent Companie, the late Manchester City, to return to Enderlecht, and badumed the task of supervising him, in addition to his player duties.
Fermailen will play alongside Spanish Andres Iniesta, forward David Villa and German striker Lukas Podolski.
