(Reuters) – Veteran Vince Carter led the Atlanta Hawks to a 98-95 win over the Detroit Pistons in the NBA on Sunday.
Carter scored 18 points, in his best performance of the season, to lead the Hawks to a third consecutive victory and continue their good performances.

The Pistons had the chance to shoot 23 seconds before the end, but Blake Griffin lost two free throws.
His opponent, Jeremy Lin, grabbed the ball. He made a mistake and scored two free throws with the Hawks 94-91 in 21 seconds later.
Detroit's Reggie Jackson reduced to a point 13.2 seconds later, but Lin was fouling but had two free throws and Kent Basimur added two free-throws 4.1 seconds to secure the Hawks' victory.
Hawkes missed John Collins for his ankle injury, but Carter managed to catch up with the team's top scorer.
Alex Lin also contributed to the win with 15 points and 17 rebounds to score double digits for the fourth time of the season.
Bazimur added 13 points while Tri Yang scored 12 points and six badists to win the Hawks for the first time in three consecutive games this season after winning two victories in two consecutive games.
Langston Galway led the Detroit Pistons with 18 points, Jackson added 16 and Andre Drummond scored 13 points and 15 rebounds.
