Vitamin C reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – According to a recent US study, consuming fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C is crucial for patients with a metabolic syndrome who are trying to end health-related disorders and problems.
The study was conducted by researchers from the University of Oregon and published their findings in the latest issue of the journal Redox Biology.
The results of this study are good news for about 35% of the US adult population with metabolic syndrome.
A diet high in saturated fat leads to chronic inflammation of the body, leading to the development of metabolic syndrome, a serious disease badociated with cognitive impairment and dementia, as well as a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, hepatic steatosis and type 2 diabetes.
According to the study, the metabolic syndrome is diagnosed in a person who has at least three of the following conditions: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, low "good" cholesterol, high triglyceride levels.
