(Reuters) – US stocks opened higher on Tuesday, enjoying the strongest support from the technology sector. China intervened to stabilize the yuan, a day after major Wall Street indexes recorded the largest percentage decline on a day of the year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 92.88 points, or 0.36%, to 25,810.62.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 16.44 points, or 0.58%, to 2,861.18. The Nasdaq composite index <.IXIC> was up 78.47 points, or 1.02%, to 7,804.51.
