(Reuters) – US stocks rose on Wednesday with Apple's backing, as strong earnings from the iPhone maker alleviated worries about the impact of the trade war between China and the US. China, while investors expect a near-certainty of US interest rates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average <.DJI> rose 46.65 points, or 0.17%, to open at 27,244.67.
The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 3.04 points, or 0.10%, at 3,016.22.
The Nasdaq composite index <.IXIC> rose 17.18 points, or 0.21%, to 8,290.80.
