Wall Street opens low amidst commercial concerns and waits for a central meeting

(Reuters) – US stocks fell on Tuesday, as tech stocks posted major losses, investors worried about the trade dispute between China and the United States and the prospect of a much-awaited meeting of the Federal Reserve.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average <.DJI> was down 75.96 points, or 0.28%, to 2,714.39.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index was down 13.31 points, or 0.44%, to 3,007.66.

The Nasdaq composite index <.IXIC> lost 61.56 points, or 0.74%, to 8,231.77.
