Watford announced on the eve of the summer transfer window in England that he had hired former Arsenal striker and Manchester United, Danny Welbeck, in a free transfer.
Welbeck, 28, has been without a club since the end of the Premier League last season after Arsenal decided to abandon it following repeated injuries, the latest being a fractured ankle in November.
"We are delighted to confirm the signing of the international Englishman Danny Welbeck in a free transfer," said Watford in a statement.
Welbeck, who has made 42 appearances for England, has defended Arsenal since 2014 against Manchester United, winning the England Cup in 2015 and 2017 and the Community Shield (2017) led by the former French Arsène Wenger.
Welbeck played a total of 206 Premier League games and scored 42 goals in his defense of Sunderland, United and Arsenal.
