WattsUp is developing a new security update asking users to confirm their identity via a fingerprint to open the application.

The famous email application, owned by Facebook, began working on the new mechanism on Android phones.

The latest update will prevent police, intelligence and other law enforcement agencies from reading messages sent by criminals and terrorists.

The WABetaInfo website, which tracks developments in WattsApp, said the update was still in the "alpha stage" of development, the first two phases of the test, but that it will be launched in future releases.

The new update allows you to open the application with the help of fingerprints when you download WattsUp, but this will not protect individual conversations.

"WABetaInfo": "The application will be fully protected, so the user will have to authenticate to be able to use WattsApp".

Last July, WattsUp acknowledged that its encryption program could be misused by criminals and terrorists.
