Turkish presidential adviser Ybadin Aktay said President Erdogan spent the summer holidays as he did every year, denying the news of his death.
"There is no basis for information reported by international and Arab media on the death of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan," Aktay told the SPOTNIK news agency on Wednesday.
"President Erdogan spends the summer holidays as he does every year and his absence leads to such allegations and expectations," Aktay said.
"Some Arab reports have used social media to express their wishes regarding Erdogan's death and to spread these rumors so quickly that the spread of such rumors is even worse than what has actually happened" said Aktay.
Media and users of social networking sites broadcast information about the death of the Turkish president after his absence from the scene for several days.
