Mike Perry was seriously injured in the fight against Brazilian Vicente Loki at the Mixed Martial Arts Championship "Fight Night 156" in Uruguay, capital of Montevideo.
The Brazilian fighter surprised his American rival, after jumping on him, and carried him a heavy knee in the nose.
Despite a fracture and serious injury to the nose, Perry did not give up and resisted until the end of the three-round bout.
Unfortunately for Perry, the judges of the match tilted Loki's hand and gave him a score of 29-28, 29-28, 28-29.
It was Berry's fifth defeat in 18 career wins so far, while Loki scored his 17th victory at his 23rd.
