Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki, the No. 1 seed, failed to qualify for the quarter-finals by leaving the second round of Auckland in New Zealand by promising Canadian Bianca Andrescu.

Andresco, 18, ranked 152nd in the world, closed the Australian Open and Auckland Champion last year when she beat her 6-4. 6-4 in a marathon of two hours and 12 minutes.

This is the second time that Andrescu qualifies for the quarterfinals of one of the professional women's league tournaments after her first career in 2017 in Washington, when she eliminated Christina Mladenovic, 13th seeded in the second round, allowing him to win his first victory.

Andreasco beat American Venus Williams, who defeated fellow Lauren Davies 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and 34 minutes.
