LeBron and Lakers wear red hats similar to MAGA’s but message calls for justice for Breonna Taylor

Ahead of their playoff game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Lakers players were seen wearing red hats, which looked like MAGA hats worn by supporters of President Donald Trump.

Taylor was shot and killed by Louisville Police in her apartment in a faulty forced entry raid in the early morning hours of March 13. None of the police officers involved have been charged with a crime.

James told reporters in July that NBA players were focusing on the case.

“I want to continue to shed light on justice for Breonna Taylor and for her family and everything that’s going on with this situation,” James said.

The Lakers are the Western Conference’s top seed for the NBA playoffs, but they are struggling early in the first round in the bubble in Orlando, Florida. On Tuesday night, the eighth-seeded Blazers – who led with as much as 16 points – beat the Lakers 100-93 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

James finished with a triple double of 23 points, 17 rebounds and 16 assists. This is James’ 24th career playoff triple double.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Eastern Conference seeded Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Orlando Magic 122-110 in Game 1 of their first-round series.
