97.1 The ticket – Although no news is official, several reports began to surface Tuesday night according to which Juwan Howard should be named head coach of the Michigan basketball team.
Howard reportedly interviewed sports director Warde Manuel on Tuesday, but nothing was said about the proceedings.
Replacing John Beilein – who in twelve seasons has brought the Wolverines to nine NCAA tournaments, five appearances in Sweet 16 and two league games before taking the lead of the Cleveland Cavaliers – is no easy task. Howard has no experience as a head coach and no college experience. But Howard has received a lot of praise in recent days, including Fab Five teammates Jalen Rose, Chris Webber and Jimmy King.
Take 5 minutes and listen to Chris Webber talk about Juwan Howard. It's hard not to participate and to want Juwan as the next coach after hearing that. Sensational. pic.twitter.com/CkEylfSXZL

Tuesday night, two other Miami Heat teammates, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, made two more announcements.
Speak to me well. Say it's true !!! My guy deserves this opportunity. This will only be ok https://t.co/TWWH4UuiTZ

Even though James and Wade were close to Howard during their stay in Miami, it's important to get a pair of endorsement ringing names like this one.
If Michigan hired Howard, they would become the only FBS-level school with alumni as head coach of their football and basketball programs.
Ed Cooley – who interviewed on Tuesday before announcing he had signed an extension of contract with Providence – was quoted by the rumors. He was assisted by Beilein's assistant Luke Yaklich and Butler's LaVall Jordan.
