LeBron James calls Devin Booker’s NBA player ‘the most disrespectful’

There’s a good chance LeBron James will meet Devin Booker or Damian Lillard in the playoffs – maybe even both.

There’s no way he’s underestimating either one.

Following the announcement of the NBA’s All-Star reserves this year Tuesday without Booker, James joined the charge saying the Phoenix Suns guard was a snub. He didn’t use the word “snob”. But his timing and his message were clear.

He followed up on this tweet with his thoughts on Lillard.

Lillard – unlike Booker – was named to the All-Star squad on Tuesday. But many around the NBA believed the honor had come too late – that Lillard should have been named a starter last week. Count James among them.

Lillard barely missed the starting lineup thanks to a tie-breaker vote from fans, players and media. NBA coaches selected the reserves and decided that Booker had not removed them.

So who would LeBron cut?

While James showed his respect for Booker and Lillard on Tuesday, he declined to name any names to cut. You obviously cannot add a player to a limited roster without removing another.

And we can’t really blame James. Talking about your rivals is one thing. Shooting them down is another – albeit much more interesting.

Most critics named Luka Doncic as the best candidate to cut from the starting lineup in favor of Lillard – Doncic was among them. Adding Booker means leaving out Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Zion Williamson or Paul George. We know James does not name Davis. Would he dare to leave his old friend and Booker’s teammate Paul in favor of his back teammate?

I guess James will never say that. At least not publicly.
