LeBron James should start filming Space Jam 2 this summer, but he would have some problems staging a casting. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, it was more difficult than expected to nominate the best players for the role of NBA players in Space Jam 2.

Windhorst did not mention any particular player Bron contacted, but he relayed the following on a recent episode of "The Jump".

"In all honesty, he has recruited players to play Space Jam with him this summer, and he has not been able to close some of these deals."

If Space Jam 2 follows the same general theme as the original, LeBron will need at least five NBA stars ready to be petted by the Monstars. In the first film, these players were Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bugs and Shawn Bradley.

Of course, finding a band to play with the Monstars in Space Jam 2 is not LeBron's only concern this summer, he also needs to recruit talent from the Lakers.

What we do know is that LeBron will not slow down his off-season training while filming. According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, he is planning to build a complete basketball court on the set of Space Jam 2 so that the quadruple player of the NBA par excellence does not miss his summer training program. Michael Jordan did the same when he filmed the original film.
