LeBron James meets Brooklyn forming Big 3 after James Harden acquisition

The Brooklyn Nets started the 2020-21 season among the favorites to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals, led by the All-Star duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving backed by a solid cast of talented players. After acquiring another All-NBA player to James Harden from the Houston Rockets, expectations for the Nets to win the championship have only risen.

As Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s Get Up, “it’s the finals or bust of the NBA” now for the Nets.

Prior to the trade, the Nets were following Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers in BetMGM’s NBA Championship odds. Now, with Harden, the Nets are only trailing the Lakers as the No.2 team.

LeBron James, who is often credited with starting the era of the super-team after leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 to join fellow All-Stars Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach, has been asked to comment on the trade.

James didn’t have much to say and admitted that his main focus was on what was happening with the Lakers.

“Obviously, trades and things happen every year, and for me my main focus is what we do here and how we can continue to improve, and that was the case today,” said James to reporters. “The trade took place today but I couldn’t afford to indulge in that knowing we had a team we had to play tonight so my main focus was the Thunder.

LeBron and the Lakers will meet the new Nets for the first time on February 18 at Staples Center.
