The LEGO Group has officially unveiled its latest 18+ vehicle, the Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa 2-in-1 10295.
Described as bridging the gap between the 1970s and 80s, 10295 marks the first time the theme formerly known as Creator Expert has taken on a Porsche – and it comes with not one, but two different variations of the German sports car.
The 1,458 parts allow you to build a Turbo or Targa version of the 911 (although crucially – and obviously – not both at the same time). The Turbo Coupe has a fixed roof and spoiler, while the Targa Convertible has a removable roof, but no spoiler. Both cars feature lavish dark orange and nougat-colored interiors, taking inspiration from contemporary upholstery options.
10295 The Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa aren’t the first Porsches to appear in LEGO form, nor are they the first time the 911 has been recreated in brick.
Speed Champions and Technic have both tackled several variations of the iconic rear-engined engine over the past few years, so it was only a matter of time before a larger version of the system rolled off the production lines. from Billund. The only question was: which one would the LEGO Group choose?
“As we were designing the car, the hardest decision was whether we were going to build the Turbo or Targa variant of the car,” said Mike Psiaki, LEGO design master.
“It was such a tough call that we engineered the ability to build the Porsche 911 Turbo and Targa LEGO from one set. Without a doubt, 911 fans around the world who have long admired these cars will love the opportunity to build both versions!
“We know the Porsche 911 conjures up a certain magic to customers and fans of our brand around the world, and the latest LEGO additions to the 911 family – the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa – are no different,” added Fabian Schmölz, exterior designer at Porsche.
“These incarnations of our sports car icon accurately capture the unmistakable design of the cars on which they are based, and should bring great pleasure to a new family of fans.
Fans with a keen eye will notice that the final box art of the set makes no mention of the vehicle collection label, which once seemed an inevitable rebranding as a result of the modular building collection. , from the winter village collection and the botanical collection.
Either way, you can add 10295 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa to your own vehicle pickup on February 16 for VIPs, or March 1 for everyone else, for £ 119.99 / $ 149.99 / € 129.99.
