Lego has unveiled a 9,090-piece model of the RMS Titanic which will become its biggest kit ever and will cost around £ 570 when it releases in November.

When built, the massive mock-up of the doomed ship – which at the time of her maiden voyage was the largest passenger ship on the seas – will measure 54 inches long, 18 inches high and 7 inches wide.

The famous disaster has since featured in several films, most notably in James Cameron’s drama “Titanic” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

“At the time of its launch, the Titanic was the pinnacle of nautical engineering, the largest moving vehicle ever created,” LEGO Group design master Mike Psiaki said Thursday in a statement.

“It has been an incredible journey recreating this iconic ship from LEGO bricks, using blueprints created over a century ago.”

He added, “Designing the LEGO Titanic with such an emphasis on immense detail and scale, but also precision, allowed us to create one of the most challenging building experiences to date.”
