Leon and Claire battle a zombie outbreak in the White House in Netflix’s upcoming Resident Evil CG animated series.
Netflix has released a full plot description for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which is slated for release at some point this year.
“In 2006, there were traces of inappropriate access to secret presidential files found in the White House network. US Federal Agent Leon S. Kennedy is part of the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident , but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies.
“Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a young person in a country she has visited, while giving her support to the refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which seems to be a victim of a viral infection, Claire launches her own investigation.
“The next morning, Claire goes to the White House to ask for the construction of a wellness center. There, she has a chance to find Leon and takes the opportunity to show him the drawing of the boy. Leon seems to realize some kind of connection between the zombie hatching in the White House and the bizarre drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relationship and leaves. In time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant lands lead to events that shake the nation to the core. “
Based on this plot synopsis, Infinite Darkness tells a story of its own unrelated to video games. The trailer is below:
Infinite Darkness is produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi. TMS Entertainment, which has spawned various animated series, produces, while Quebico, directed by Kei Miyamoto, the producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, is in charge of the full 3DCG animation production.
Netflix has also revealed that it is bringing back voice actors Nick Apostolides as Leon and Stephanie Panisello as Claire – the same roles they played in 2019’s Resident Evil 2 Remake. And here’s a new image. (you can see the zombies outside the White House at the bottom):
