The Rams signed linebacker Leonard Floyd to a one-year contract last year and they are signing him for a longer contract this year.
Shortly after, Josina Anderson reported that the Rams had finished a new deal with Floyd, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that this is a four-year period, $ 64 million contract.
Floyd set a career-high 10.5 sacks starting every game the Rams played last season. He added two more sacks in the playoffs and should remain a strong passing threat in a forward seven with Aaron Donald playing inside him.
The Rams’ top-ranked defense lost a key component on Monday when safety John Johnson agreed to a deal with the Browns, but Floyd’s return is a step forward to remain one of the league’s top units in 2021.
