Leviton released today with its second generation Decora smart switches and dimmers that support HomeKit without a hub. The new range includes a 600 W dimmer, a 15 A switch, a mini plug-in switch and a mini plug-in dimmer.
Leviton today announced the new HomeKit compatible switches and dimmers in a press release. The company says the most recent additions work without a hub like previous Decora smart home products and pair wirelessly with its “everywhere companions” that can extend smart home control. These two factors provide great flexibility, whether you’re new to HomeKit lighting or want to expand your setup.
The 2nd Generation Decora Dimmer and Wall Switch are also reduced in depth, making them easier to install in new or existing homes.
With reduced product depth, 2nd Generation Decora Smart Wi-Fi devices are easy to install in new construction or as a replacement for standard light switches and dimmers. For users looking for multi-site control, Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen supports both wired and wireless multi-site control options.
One of the great advantages of hard wired smart switches / dimmers like these is that you can use them with your existing bulbs and they are also easy for customers to use as regular switches.
