The company announced today that its 2019 smart ovens will now recognize prepackaged meals from Tovala, a Chicago-based smart furnace company. Owners of LG's intelligent 2019 ovens will be able to scan meals via the Tovala app, then let their oven automatically move to the appropriate settings to prepare them.
While several smart oven companies, such as June and Brava, have integrated food recognition systems into their devices, the Tovala team is the only one to have launched an accompanied meal delivery service. The team creates meals every week, cooks and packs them, then ships them to customers. This is a big company that has clearly attracted the attention of LG, which means that Tovala will no longer be limited to selling its dishes only to customers of the Tovala oven.
The Tovala oven, which is in its second generation, steams, cooks, grills and grills foods automatically with each meal. Tovala has also recently started letting users scan Trader Joe's frozen products, but it's unclear whether LG's ovens will be able to use them as well.
