Lil Nas X fights back after South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem got a lather on his latest collaboration: a pair of Satan-themed sneakers containing a drop of human blood. The kicks – swollen Nikes designed by MSCHF – appear to be inspired by the singer’s sexed video for “MONTERO, “ which represents him descending into hell. (Nike has denied any involvement in the shoe’s release.) But any artistic license is lost on Noem, who tweeted about the sneakers on Sunday: “Our kids are being told that this type of product is not only okay, but ‘ exclusive’. But do you know what is more exclusive? Their eternal soul given by God. We are fighting for the soul of our nation. We have to fight hard. And we have to fight smart. We have to win. ”
“Ur quite a governor and you here tweeting about damn shoes,” the singer tweeted in response. “Do your job!”
As The Daily Beast reported over the weekend, Noem, who sadly downplayed the threat of COVID-19, was a Trump GOP darling but has seen her star fade with some recent controversy at home.
