Lil Wayne missed an appearance during his joint tour with Blink-182 on Saturday night after claiming he had been fired from a St. Louis hotel that morning.
According to several local sources, police officers were reportedly summoned to the Ritz-Carlton because of a disturbance between Lil Wayne's entourage and hotel staff, which had begun following complaints about Marijuana smells, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and KMOV.
Clayton's acting chief of police, Mark Smith, told Post-Dispatch that Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., "was not happy to be invited to open the balcony doors "to aerate the smell.
The rapper apologized to fans on Saturday morning Twitter, writing that he was "kik" out of his hotel and so would not be in St. Louis.
"It's all love," he added.
According to local sources, the police reportedly said the rapper had left the hotel voluntarily and had not been forced to leave, as his tweet had suggested. USA TODAY contacted Lil Wayne's representative, Clayton Police Department, Missouri, and the Ritz-Carlton for comments.
Lil Wayne had already been eyeing on his tour with the pop-punk band earlier this summer, while he reportedly left a Virginia scene in July amid a performance.
Earlier in the series, he complained about the size of the show crowd.
"Wait, I just want people to know, if you ask, forgive me, but I'm not used to playing in front of an audience – and there's not a lot of them – is not my booty, "he says, stopping one of his songs. "I do not know how long I'll be able to do this tour, but make some noise for Blink-182 for including me anyway. It could be my last night, though. Let's go. "
The rapper eventually assured fans on Twitter that he would not leave the tour tweeting: "It was krazy yesterday! But I want all my fans to know that I will not leave this tour!" I'm having too much fun with my friends -182. "
