ALAMEDA, California – The Oakland Raiders signed a contract with the unrestricted free agent LB Brandon Marshall, the club announced Thursday.
Marshall, originally a fifth round pick (142nd overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2012 NFL Draft, spent his last six seasons (2013-18) with the Denver Broncos and between now in his eighth year in the league. Marshall appeared in 74 career contests and made 63 starts in his first seven seasons, totaling 412 tackles (301 solo), 6.5 sacks, two interceptions, 21 assists defended, four forced fumbles and one caught. In seven appearances in the playoffs, including four starts, he compiled 20 saves (seven), two defended passes and a forced fumble.
Last season, Marshall appeared in 11 games and made seven starts with the Broncos, totaling 42 saves (22) and one defense. In his six seasons with the Broncos, Marshall recorded three years with at least 100 tackles, including two at the club in 2014 and 2017. In 2015, Marshall scored 101 tackles (76), starting in the 16 competitions for the Broncos. three playoff starts on his way to a Super Bowl 50 victory to which he contributed with five saves in the championship game.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Marshall was a four-year-old starter from 2008-11 in Nevada. He recorded 259 tackles (145), including 40 in defeat, six sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries with the Wolf Pack. In 2011, he was honored by Phil Steele Publications, who received the second team of the All Western Athletic Conference, after having published more than 100 tackles, including 10 for defeat.
