Lions at Vikings: Interim Injury Reports

[ad_1]

Ahead of Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions updated their injury reports after practice Thursday. Let’s compare them to yesterday’s reports and see how these players are progressing. . . or, in some cases, does not progress.

As always, we start with the visitors.

Detroit Lions

Did not participate

Limited participation

  • DT Michael Brockers (shoulder)
  • LB Trey Flowers (knee)
  • TE TJ Hockenson (knee, to improve DNP on Wednesday)
  • RB D’AndrĂ© Swift (groin)
  • RB Jamaal Williams (hip)

Full participation

No player listed

Just one change in the Lions injury record on Thursday, as tight end TJ Hockenson trained for the team today after missing the game on Wednesday. Penei Sewell missed her second consecutive practice and Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn said today that “for now” the Lions are preparing for Sewell not to play on Sunday. That means the Lions could be without their starting center and their two starting tackles in this one against Danielle Hunter and co.

Now on to the good guys.

Minnesota Vikings

Did not participate

  • RB Dalvin Cook (ankle)
  • DT Michael Pierce (elbow)
  • WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (toe)

Limited participation

No player listed

Full participation

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • CB Bashaud Breeland (illness)
  • CB Kris Boyd (hamstrings)
  • S Camryn Bynum (abdomen)
  • K Greg Joseph (right hip)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (hip)
  • G Oli Udoh (neck)
  • LB Nick Vigil (ankle, to improve DNP on Wednesday)
  • WR Dede Westbrook (quadriceps)

The Purples also made just one change to their injury report, as Nick Vigil returned to training and fully participated after being absent on Wednesday. Cook and Pierce continue to be out, and we’ll have to see if these are decisions during the game or if they are simply declared out in Friday’s final report. Cook continues to insist that he will continue playing despite his ankle problem, but he doesn’t have the final say when all is said and done. We’re still not entirely clear on the extent of Pierce’s injury, either.

These are your draft injury reports for Lions and Vikings, ladies and gentlemen. The final reports will be released tomorrow afternoon and we will have the status of each one here.
