The Detroit Lions eliminated veteran running back C.J. Anderson on Tuesday after being rewarded with a Paul Perkins waiver.
Anderson was Johnson's first substitute in the first game of the season against Arizona, then his workload was reduced in the second week against the Los Angeles Chargers in favor of rookie Ty Johnson. On Sunday, Anderson rushed five times for an 8-yard gain, gaining a measly 1.6 yards per run.
In his two games with Detroit, he ran 16 times for 43 yards. As with his fieldwork, he became a mentor for Kerryon Johnson, working with him every day during training camp to improve his game.
