Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today the signing of the unrestricted free agent CB Rashaan Melvin. The additional contractual conditions have not been disclosed.
Melvin enters his sixth season in the NFL after playing for the Oakland Raiders in 2018, where he has participated in 14 games (seven starts) and totaled 56 tackles and one interception. Prior to joining Oakland, Melvin had spent time with the Colts of Indianapolis (2016-17), the New England Patriots (2015) and Baltimore Ravens (2014-15).
He had made his NFL debut with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a rookie free agent in northern Illinois in 2013 and had spent time with the Buccaneers and with the team. Coaching the Miami Dolphins before making his NFL debut with Baltimore in 2014. He has cumulated matches played (28 starts), 174 tackles, four interceptions and 30 defenses against.
