The piece was written in response to the highly restrictive anti-abortion laws passed in the state of Alabama yesterday (May 15). Sales of the Heidecker song will go directly to the Yellowhammer Fund, an organization that funds all those seeking care in one of three Alabama abortion clinics. It also offers financial assistance to cover travel, accommodation and more.
Many artists have protested against Alabama's anti-abortion laws, including Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Janelle Monaé, Lizzo, and so on.
