The rapper presents his 10th studio album, scheduled for release Friday, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday night (July 22) with a huge listening party. The event is broadcast live via Apple Music.
Donda is West’s first album since his back-to-back gospel projects in 2019 Jesus is king and Jesus was born, the latter is credited to the Sunday Service Choir. It remains to be seen what the new project will look like – named after its late mother, who died in 2007 at the age of 58 – but the project’s first song, “No Child Left Behind”, is both lyrical and sound recalls West’s evangelical work.
