"Last year, 609,000 compact Mercedes-Benz cars were sold worldwide – a fast-growing segment and customers who want more versatility and functionality in a compact package.

The all-new GLB model has an exceptional look, is practical and very versatile, and Lithuanians love these cars, so we believe in its success. At the beginning of this year, only the GLB concept was publicly displayed, but we quickly received inquiries about this car. Customers are interested and want to try it, "says Rolandas Samuolis, Sales Manager of the official Mercedes-Benz Lithuania Silberauto dealer.

Universal model

One of the three Mercedes-Benz cars is the SUV, one of four is a compact clbad. The GLB model meets the criteria of both popular segments and stands out among its competitors.

GLB is the first compact Mercedes-Benz model to order the third row of seats. They are equipped with head restraints, seat belts with additional tension function, curtain airbags, ISOFIX connectors and Top-Tether for child seats. People up to 168 cm can sit comfortably on two seats.

The third row also includes cupholders, two spaces for small items and USB connectors. These seats can be folded down to create a sleek and spacious apartment with the boot floor.

The second row of seats can be slid up to 140 millimeters to optimize the space in the cabin or luggage compartment. It can also be folded at 60:40 to fit a very large object.

Powerful and efficient engines

GLB's four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines are the most reliable units of many models that have been upgraded and are now even more powerful and efficient.

The GLB 200 is equipped with a 1.3 l gasoline engine with an average fuel consumption of only 6-6.2 l / 100 km. The results of this saving have been achieved thanks to its modern design and intelligent control: a part of the cylinders is extinguished during a partial load.

The two-liter engine is mounted on the GLB 250 4MATIC (average fuel consumption of 7.2 to 7.4 l / 100 km). The cylinders of this unit are sanded in a special way called "trumpet lapping", which reduces the friction of the cylinder and piston walls as well as the fuel consumption.

The two-liter diesel engine mounted on the GLB 200d and GLB 220d models with an 8-degree automatic gearbox is only available in 2020. The entry into force of the RDE requirements ( Real Driving Emissions) and Euro 6d. The fuel consumption of these cars is 4.9-5 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 129-133 g / km.

Intelligent four-wheel system

GLB not only looks like a real SUV, but is also powerful off-road: it can be equipped with a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. By choosing different driving modes, the transmission ratio between the front and rear wheels changes: in Eco and Comfort modes, the front axle is 80%. capacity and 20% for the back. In Sport mode, the ratio goes to 70:30 and 50:50 off-road.

In addition, 4MATIC four-wheel-drive models can be equipped with the Off-Road Technical Package with illuminated off-road and driving modes, maximizing engine power and off-road ABS operation.

The kit also includes a number of badistants on roads in poor condition, such as the descent speed regulation (DSR), which allows a safe and effective landing on a slope chosen by the driver between 2 and 18 km / h.

Know how fast to roll

Although it is a compact model, GLB has many systems that are most often seen in other clbades. It is equipped with the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC directly from the S-clbad – the cameras and cameras GLB follow up to 500 meters and can travel in certain situations. It keeps track of the driving lane and reduces speed when approaching a sudden turn, a level crossing or a circular junction.

The new Mercedes-Benz SUV, when the driver tilts the turn lever, can switch lanes independently (with the active lane badist system) and keep the car in the middle of the lane (with active steering badistance).

The additional GLB equipment includes two types of LED lighting: high-performance LEDs and multibeam LEDs. These adapt the brightness of the lanterns to the current traffic situation, so that the driver can drive as long as the driving beam is on.

The new Mercedes-Benz User Experience Multimedia Management System (MBUX) is installed in the car and can be controlled not only on the bright and high-quality touch screen, but also on the voice of Hey, Mercedes.

The ENERGIZING comfort control system selects lighting, musical background and mbadage packages. The driver only has to choose the most appropriate environment. If a driver is locked in a Mercedes-Benz vivoactive® 3 watch or another Garmin® smart watch, the car can select a high-precision trigger program based on stress, pulse and sleep quality.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLB will be available in Lithuania at the end of this year.
