"Antis" invites to look at the restored Vilnius Upper Castle

Antis was used for the first time at the Restoration of the Superior Castle, and used it in his thirty-year concert "Zombiai atsiras atvase!", Which took place in three arenas in Lithuania. "The last part of the concert needed a strong symbol of a state of recovery, and then it was born on the big screen to show the restored vision of the upper castle of Vilnius," recalls L & # 39; architect, Algirdas Kaušpėdas, a former leader of the group.

Later, in January 2016, "Antis" congratulated Vilnius for the anniversary of the city by donating a short video clip to his Facebook account with images of the restored castle, which received more than 100,000 views in a few days. The indisputable reaction of the society encouraged creativity – there was a thought to write an inspirational song "Antsi" at the castle of the island of Trakai and encouraged to invite the Lithuanians to rebuild the castle of Gediminas .

Algirdas Kaušpėdas, the song written by the composer Kristupas Bubnell Together with Anima, this work was done by the light maestro Virgilijus Noreika and singer Donatas Montvydas. After the farewell concert of "Ants", the song was recorded in the studio with the idea of ​​creating a video on the restoration of the Upper Vilnius Castle. The song was released in the Ants album in 2016, titled "The Best Song II" and became the latest single recorded by the legendary group.

However, it soon became clear that restoring the architecture of the castle was a complex task. For this purpose, the architectural studio "JP architektūra" has built a group of restoration lovers of castles who worked for two years for the restoration project of the upper castle of Vilnius.

In order to create the vision of the upper castle of Vilnius, historical sources related to the castle, similar to the castles of the castle of Central Europe, were consulted, the specialists of the castle were evaluated, the old projects of restoration of the castle were evaluated, the situation of the castle was studied. A real breakthrough occurred when it was possible to set the images of Francis Smuglevicius in relation to the remains of the castle.

This helped to design a fairly reliable base of the 3D model of the castle, which established the true caliber of the ancient castle. The creative team led by architect Lukas Narutis has recreated the virtual upper castle in Vilnius. Of course, it was not the time of Gediminas Castle. It should be noted that after the castle fire in 1419, the stone castle was built by the Lithuanian grand duke Vytautas.

The video clip presented today reproduces the castle in the actual environment of present-day Vilnius. This was not a simple task – it was necessary to combine the dron material with the virtual castle model. Even several professional computer companies have tried to do it, but they have failed. Finally, the necessary expertise was managed by a specialist from a neighboring country, and two worlds – the real Vilnius and the restored castle – merged into one consistent vision.
