The prices of most of the most basic and most popular food products this fall are compared to those of the same period in 2017, but prices for butter and pork do not drop, according to the pricer.lt survey, a food price survey.

In November, the price of the basic grocery bag (the cheapest) was € 51.73 and was the lowest of all 2018 years.

Compared with November 2017, the price of this basket decreased by 5.8% and 1% compared to October of this year.

The cheapest basket costs at least the Maxima store (47.98 €), the most expensive of the Barbora online shop (59.25 €).

The most popular (well-known) food basket price fell 0.6% a year ago, while it was 0.3% for the month. up to 37,84 €.

The cheapest cart was available at Iki (36,09 EUR), the most expensive at Barbora (39,17 EUR).

"The baskets of cheap food and popular brands show that prices in all major supermarkets have started to drop when Maxima cut prices in September. The research shows another contrast: the shop Online Barbora has abandoned the cheapest products and, as a result, its prices in the low-end category are very high compared to the rest of the market, "says pricer.lt.

According to pricer.lt, butter prices are increasing in the market. Last year, the increase in butter in Europe and Lithuania continued until the beginning of this year.

In Europe, prices have returned to the previous level, in Lithuania they have not fallen and recently, the price of butter has increased again and exceeded the limit of EUR 2 per 200 grams.

Maxima, Iki, Norfa, Lidl, Rimi and Barbora were badyzed in the study, but Lidl was not the most popular product.

When and who costs the best

This fall, the prices of essential food products increased the most in September. The report indicates that the average price of the cheapest food basket in September, compared to July in July, rose by 3.05%.

The price of the November basket was the lowest in 2018, the same as in July – 51.73 EUR.

The market has high prices for butter. Last year, the increase in butter in Europe and Lithuania continued until the beginning of this year. In Europe, prices have been corrected and returned to the previous level, while butter prices have not fallen in Lithuania.

The price of butter has recently increased again and exceeds 2 euros per 200 g. flat rate.

In November, a price survey showed that the average basket of cheap food products fell 1% from October.

Analysts at Pricer.com report that market prices have stabilized and that the cheapest and cheapest food products are registered.
