Last week, electricity prices in the Baltic countries rose. It is true that even though the hot and humid weather still had the most impact on price growth, last week, positive developments in electricity generation from the wind were observed.

Electricity prices in Lithuania and Latvia increased by 2.9%. at 56.08 EUR / MWh, and in Estonia – 2.3%. at 55.37 EUR / MWh. According to the experts of "Elektrum Lietuva", almost all of the month electricity prices are caused by the extremely dry and hot weather that has been established in the area, reducing the amount of water in the hydroelectric reservoirs. At the same time, however, wind turbines were running faster than wind turbines, so production increased somewhat.

Compared to the previous week, electricity consumption in the Baltic countries rose to 2.3%. at 480.9 GWh. The indicator rose the most in Latvia – 4.3%. 131.6 GWh, Estonia and Lithuania respectively 3.1%. at 127.3 GWh and 0.6% at 221.9 GWh

During the last week of July, electricity production in the Baltic States increased by 3.4%. up to 310 GWh. In Latvia, production increased by almost a third – 29.4%. However, at 93.5 GWh, Lithuania and Estonia saw a decline in the indicator. Electricity production in Estonia decreased by 1.6% in Estonia. at 177.3 GWh, and in Lithuania – 17.3%. at 39.2 GWh.
