M.M .: Darius is a good friend of ours. All three of us wanted to create projects that would enrich the cultural life of Lithuania. DS: When a phageist calls someone and tells how he organizes a festival of piano, it seems rather weird. So, this fact was a minor obstacle for me. However, this is certainly not essential – the most important is to convince people of the relevance of their ideas, to be interested. It is true that if I organized the Fagot Festival, it would be easier because I would find ways to present the information in a convincing way.

– The most important question – the most interesting and unique festival of the Kauno Piano Festival

RL: This event is unique in that It will be very versatile: for the public – for the festival, and for the festival participants – and for the master clbades. Another distinction is that the stars of the non-musical world come to the Kaunas Piano Fest, and young but very talented artists, who are just novice pianists, that is to say. always pay or continue working. In other words, future potential high-level artists. So, they are completely motivated not only to improve the technique, but also to learn to plan their musical life after their studies. I would say, quite similar to us, the organizer, – Monika is a student, and Darius and I recently graduated. – What is relevant for a young pianist?

RL: Professional development. We live in the 21st century, with a very important management, self-education, the ability to cope with the stress and the abundance of other factors that we do not always get enough of. Then, next to the purely theoretical piano lessons that will be taught by professors Petras Geniušas and Fali Pavri, we propose another series of lectures which, we hope, will help you to consider yourself from other angles and to help young people discover themselves. – How could this festival attract the ordinary citizen of Kaunas?

DS: Each festival participant gets the chance to get a recital – in other words, immediately try to apply what you have learned in the master clbades. And the ordinary woman at each rehearsal of the Kaunas Piano Fest will receive a free quality concert with piano clbadics by Johan Sebastian Bach in the 21st century. opus Those who love Friedrich Chopin, Ferenc Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninov, Anatoly Skrabina or Ludwig van Beethoven will be able to listen to their most famous works. RL: We would like attract as many ordinary people as possible to festival concerts. We want to show that clbadical music is meant for everyone, not just snobi, as it was usual to think. Therefore, we will ask each performer to say what he will play, what his own composers or works mean for him. Above all, we invite you to the final concert of the festival at Kaunas St. Archangel Michael's Church (Creole), where on July 15th. we will build the instrument and organize a concert of all the participants. In order not to miss a lot, all the cellars will be a bit, and we will invite the public to vote and select a favorite who will receive the prize. By the way, in this case, the winner will only be determined by the public opinion, we do not question the professional opinion.

M.M .: We really want people not to be afraid of the word "clbadic". After all, this music is like old clbadic movies that never get old. You just came to the concert, open your ears and listen to the music. You do not have to think that it is complicated or tedious. The goal of all three, as performers and festival organizers, is to bring clbadical music closer to people without music in common. RL: The programs of the musicians are already harmonized, but we invite everyone as free listeners.

– Prof. P. Geniušas and the professor of the Royal Conservatory of Scotland, well known Lithuanians, will have the opportunity to learn the piano in a different type of course, which will be very comprehensive and suitable for each musician. Pavri And what other conferences are speakers?

M.M .: Various persons who are not musicians, or musicians, and any other specialist. For example, we invited Donatas Vaitkus, a pianist, to attend one of our lectures and, furthermore, at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he supported a master's degree in musical psychology. She is interested in the parallels between the psychological preparation aspects of athletes and musicians – in the field of sport, we often try to find out why some athletes succeed, others do not. There is very little discussion in music about this. So she tried to understand why some musicians were playing less, but they were doing better on stage, while others, on the other hand, were working hard on the instrument, but they were not showing all that was going on. they could do concerts. After studying, she learned that musicians did not pay enough attention to psychological preparation, leaving too much time for the instrument. And in the modern world, as you know, the pace is fast – it's not always time to play a lot. If you think – in the case of a successful career, the performers travel a lot: one plane replaces another, a city, the other. Be tired, tired, and have to go to the important scene and look good. RL: We will have a lecture from Jurgita Gukštiene, ISM lecturer on leadership and physiotherapist conference Juozas Kupčiūnas on the prevention of musicians traumatic. Singapore guest Wayne Neo will be a very interesting conference. He is a pianist, but beside that, he is professionally involved in clinical hypnotherapy. What does it mean for a musician? I think everyone in our scene has faced problems of fear or memory when you are well prepared but forget about the text. It is simply scientifically very aware of who, why and how is the human brain and how to help in such situations.

MM: He teaches how to do visualization, used in sports: artists visualize all kinds of images to heal wounds or simply improve your performance. After all, most musicians are psychologically and physically traumatized, so he will try to demonstrate the basics of visualization by simply emphasizing that musicians must spend time on psychology. He will work with the interpreters individually.

R.L .: It goes without saying that in such a short time he will not give fish but a fishing rod. However, a proper fishing rod is very important. By the way, I think all these lectures will not only be useful for practical knowledge, but will also help artists answer the question of how they imagine their own career. From my experience, I still have no idea what I want – to be an artist or not – in undergraduate studies. I'm not part of the musicians family, so I did not even imagine how a pianist's career should work, how he lives. Therefore, in trying to help our younger colleagues, we also insist on immediate communication, especially with P. Genius and F. Pavry. When choosing piano teachers, the key factor was the immediacy of their personality.

MM: I think we were lucky that we did not come from families of musicians, because we are looking for these answers, discovering more interesting paths.

– What encouraged the organization of this kind of festival? It is a very big event.

R.L .: We received the first inspiration in 2015 when we traveled with Monika to a similar festival in France and met her organizers Philippe and Anna Argenty. By the way, they will perform a concert at Landsbergiai Farmstead in Kacergin, and they will tell you about their exciting self-management experience. The most interesting thing is that Philippe started playing the piano very late at the age of 18. He may not be the best pianist in the world, but he has 100 concerts a year. And in this case, it's not his professionalism that counts, but 100 years of concerts a year

MM: When we grew up, it seemed like a whole time, technically not very good, to complete your career in the big hall of the school because there will be more. But in fact, we see a lot of clear evidence that it is far from complete. You do not have to be a genius to enjoy music and spread it to others. Correct liberation and sincerity are often more important than dry professionalism

– Why did you choose Kaunas exactly?

D.S .: First of all, here is the birthplace of Monika and Roberta. Second, Vilnius is full of events of all kinds, and Klaipeda-style courses are already organized. In Kaunas, there was no such event, so we saw a very big perspective. In addition, the musical gymnasium Kaunas J.Naujalis reacted very positively to this event. In fact, it was a serious motivation for us to move from the idea to the real work. In addition, this school has two new pianos – Steinway & Sons and Beckstein – and the school rooms are not used in the summer. So why not use them? We are extremely grateful to the gymnasium director Raimundas Simanavičius for his moral support, his rooms and his great instruments.

– Does the Kaunas Piano Fest have continuity?

Otherwise, we do not expect it at all. In fact, the entire organization started from the languages ​​it could develop ten years later. So, we really want continuity. And we hope that Kaunas Piano Fest will become one of the biggest events not only in Lithuania, but also throughout the Baltic region. Maybe this event will once again celebrate Kaunas. I am happy that all three have the same attitude. Throughout the year of organization, we put a lot of heart into this festival. Indeed, it was not easy because we organized it without the support of the Cultural Council, only individual people supported us financially and received support from the Rotary Club of Kaunas, which we We are also very grateful. So, using this opportunity, I mean that any form of support for the festival is very relevant.

– This seems patriotic. However, the festival site is in English only. Why?

D.S .: The majority of festival participants are non-Lithuanian, and the information is also broadcast in a language they understand. I think next year we will be able to prepare the information in Lithuanian. Just a lack of time. Well, and in terms of patriotism, the plans provide a brief lecture to participants in the history of Lithuania that will take place at the Military Museum. We really wanted to know our country as deeply as possible: to discover our history, who we are and why we are exactly that.
