WASHINGTON – A tuesday morning after days of heat notice may make you want to shake your fist in the sun, but rest badured knowing that the lingering heat of the week will not spoil your July 4th plans .

Tuesday also marked the fifth day of a heat wave with highs in the 90s.

Beat the heat
Experts warn residents to be "smart facing the heat ". Here are some steps you can take to combat heat:
