As announced by Lithuanian radio, farewell to Mr. Meku will be held Saturday in New York. The deceased will be cremated.

The artist will be buried in Lithuania, next to his parents, in Biržai district, in Semeniškiai.

The poet and publicist, filmmaker Mecca, died Wednesday morning at his home in New York at the age of 97.

The National Prize for Culture and Arts of Lithuania, J. Mecca, is one of the most famous of the twentieth century. Lithuanian artists, better known for their film experiences, are also known as pioneers of avant-garde cinema.
