At the meeting of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) Council, nine clubs were allowed to participate in the Betsafe-LKL 2018-2019

On July 17, the LKL Board of Directors granted licenses to Kaunas Žalgiris, Vilniaus "Rytui"

During the process of authorization, the additional participant of Kedainiai "Nevėžis" received 10 additional days, as well as the "Nevėžis", "Panevėžys" "Lietkabeliai" , "Šiauliai", Pasvalio "Pieno žvaigždės", Utena "Juventus", Alytus Dzūkija and Prienams.
