The strike coordinated by the Lithuanian Education Workers Union (LSDP) has been going on for three weeks. On Thursday, according to MES data, 71 educational institutions and about 1,550 teachers are on strike.
Some of them, when they asked for talks with the minister, arrived Wednesday at the Ministry of Education and Science, although meeting with the LDDPS and others union representatives was scheduled for Thursday.
Minister J.Petrauskienė described the negotiation procedure proposed by the LDDPS as destructive. She met with troubled educators, but did not discuss it. Ministry teachers changed their minds.

"We do not think so because I spoke in a very constructive way, but no one is talking to us.The minister has not yet started constructive negotiations with this union that has started a strike," he said. the teacher.
Birutė Gaučienė, a teacher at the Vilnius School of Continuing Education, told the Ministry of Education and Science until 2 pm. She says she chose this type of negotiation because "the time is right".

The LDPS requirements are as follows:
- install a full-time model with a maximum of 18 hours of contact for a position and 18 hours for other work;

- The hours per year are calculated not for a year, but for a week;
- Preschool and preschool teachers must have at least six contactless hours.
The introduction of the pay-per-use model was intended to reward the work of all teachers, maintain a stable workload and attract young professionals to schools. Applying the model, according to the ministry, the salary has increased by 70% teachers.
