. A softer ice that is directly above the liquid water can easily absorb the water bubbles. They are slightly erect, deformed by ice because of continuous cracks in the surface. However, it may take a million years to reach European surface waters. Thus, the water found on the invasion of Europe is likely to be a trace of the present and long-distance oceans of the past.
The results of the study are published in the "Geophysical Research Letters."
