One of the advantages of the new routers is that they provide Wi-Fi connectivity with the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. As a result, Wi-Fi will work at home even faster and more stably, with less interference from surrounding Wi-Fi networks.
E.Dapkevičienė added that after changing the router around 28,000 consumers who currently do not have access to fiber at home will be able to use the new Super VDSL (SVDSL). It allows the speed of the fiber line to be close to the speed of the fiber up to 250 Mb / s.
People do not need to contact Telia for equipment replacement, and the company will contact people whose terminal equipment needs to be replaced. The absolute majority (about 90%) of new routers should be sent directly to home by mail.
In Lithuania, Telia has 262,000. Fiber optic Internet and more than 120,000. DSL Internet customers. About half of them currently have new routers published after 2016.
