The spooky sequel Little Nightmares 2 is just around the corner waiting to come out and scare you in February. If you haven’t played its predecessor puzzle platformer, don’t worry, you can pick it up for free until Sunday, giving you plenty of time to browse through it before the sequel. Bandai Namco also scared up a spooky new trailer for the occasion.

Bandai Namco says that the free download of the original Little Nightmares is available through the Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe store, which I can’t get to, so I’m afraid you’re on your own from there. There is also a pop-up on the main Bandai Namco site where you can insert your “for the chance to claim a free copy” email address via the Steam key, although it’s not very clear what is. this is a raffle situation or the same free offer they mentioned. I asked them for a bit of clarity on this and will update if they let me know. Either way, BandaiNam says the offer is valid by Sunday, January 17.

RPS’s Little Nightmares review praises just about everything from puzzles and visual style to the pacing of its horror world that relies more on unease than fear of jumping. Alice Bee agrees that it’s one of her favorite horror games, and has a lot to say about her time with the Little Nightmares 2 preview as well.

“LN2 has everything I loved about the first game: like Lilliputians crawling under giant tables and shelves, somersaults from your small size, and the excellent sound design of your little slapping feet and invisible things turn disorder in the dark, ”says Alice. “Riddles are always about finding the right switches to put in the right places, and while Six helps you get into some rooms, I spent most of my time running as a Mono by myself- even.

As of today, there is also a demo of Little Nightmares 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A demo has been available on PC for a while now, but if you missed hearing about it you can try it on Steam and GOG. This is also where you’ll find the full game when it launches on February 10 for £ 25 / € 30 / $ 30.
