Liv Tyler is the latest star to test positive for COVID-19, comparing the impact of the virus to a ‘locomotive’.

Actress and daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler shared the news on Instagram on Friday, alongside a photo of herself wearing a mask and cuddling two of her three children. “I found my loves … what a crazy 2 weeks,” wrote Liv, 43. to share our stories, to share information, to gather facts and to realize and above all to know that we are not alone in this area.

Tyler said she tested positive for COVID-19 on New Years Eve. “Shit, I had been successful throughout 2020 protecting myself and my family,” she wrote. “Do whatever I can to protect my wolf pack and follow the rules to protect others. Suddenly on the [morning] from the last day of 2020 … boom it knocked me down. It comes fast, like a locomotive. Owchie. “

Tyler said the news made her feel guilty about a pandemic that has infected more than 23 million people in the United States. “With that, feelings of fear, shame and guilt go through you, who could you have gotten it from and who could you have infected… terrifying,” she wrote.

Her family, however, tested negative. Liv shares her daughter Lula, 4, and son Sailor, 5, with her fiance Dave Gardner. Liv also has a 16-year-old son named Milo with her ex-husband and former Spacehog singer Roy Langdon.

“There are so many strange elements to this disease,” she wrote. “He [affects] everyone so completely differently. I was so lucky and got the corona light, like my mom @realbebebuell [Bebe Buell] called him, but he knocked me down for 10 days in my bed. There are the physical aspects but also the emotional and psychological aspects. It is with your body and your mind as well. Every day is different. Being isolated in a single room for 10 days is trippy to say the least.

Liv said recent events, such as the attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Trump to overthrow Joe Biden’s next presidency (whose inauguration takes place on Wednesday), did not appear to be real. “Waking up to learn that our capital is under attack. Was it real or the twilight zone? Ohhh no it was real !!! she wrote. “The first days of 2021 have been frightening for everyone in the world. The unknown is so great.

However, Liv was able to watch her children from afar. “I missed my babies beyond, but they visited my window and called me and I watch them playing outside. Such a gift. They sent little messages and pictures under my door. Reminders of what’s on the other side. Something to improve. “

Liv said she has recovered and feels compassion for other patients and healthcare workers. “I am so grateful to have been through this and have spent my days alone praying and radiating love for all who are [affected] and suffering from it, ”she wrote. “Those who work tirelessly to protect and care for others. Thank you. We are all connected through this experience. I am humble and filled with gratitude for being well, a gift and a radiant love and a light for all those who have left this world because of this virus and those who are suffering … “

In September, Tyler left the Fox television series 9-1-1: Lone Star due to his travel schedule amid the pandemic, according to a report by Variety. Tyler, who played Texas paramedic Michelle Blake in the first season, was concerned about taking flights to and from the United States (the actress lives in England). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report on Friday indicating that B.1.1.7, a “highly transmissible variant” of SARS-CoV-2, had been detected in ten US states. The variant, also found in the UK, “has the potential to increase the trajectory of the US pandemic in the months to come.”
